Fantasy Faire: The Bard Queen's Song Quest, Part Two

Main Quest >> Locate the Bard Queen in Morbus

This is a lot easier than one might expect - no caves or going very far; the Bard Queen is just inside the border. Walk up, click on her, and another video will start - again, there are links to YouTube if it doesn't load in world. She doesn't look or feel well, but she can make the potion to help herself at the top of the tower if we clear the way for her. She even calls Farion brave - which embarrasses him! And now it's on to the puzzle-solving half of the Quest - this time getting the Bard Queen where she needs to go!

Fantasy Faire: The Bard Queen's Song Quest, Part One

You can purchase the HUD for the game at the landing point of every sim; there's a deluxe version which comes with an outfit (350$L) and a simple version which comes with just the HUD (250$L). The deluxe version comes with instructions on how to Redeem the included gift card are included. The gift card itself is no-copy, so you have to rez the box in world in order to remove it. When you wear it, it will direct you to teleport to Fairelands Junction, where the quest begins.

A couple of notes - one, you can save the game manually using the "setup" button, and I recommend you do so. Two, it's worth it to drop your graphics down quite a bit; the Fairelands are full of people, and that can slow you down significantly. Thirdly, the hints really do help - read them a couple of times and they should do well by you.

Steam Hunt: Up in the Air

There are a lot fewer pants in Steam Victoria than I expected!

It is sometimes very, very tiny but I found the hints helpful for pointing me in the right direction!

This is the guide organized by room, so if you're stuck somewhere this may unstick you. I've also written a general introduction and the story hunt organized by deaths and endings, so head there if that's what you're looking for. Sunday Squee: UBUMExORIGAMI

August is the month of ghosts in Japan, and Ubume has returned with another if it's Hunt Stories to chill you to your bones! It starts today, August 11th, and will go until September 10th - so you have some time, but this tends to be time and effort intensive and well worth the work! When you're not playing, you can check out the large Shopping Area with tons of amazing Japanese and horror themed items for sale and an amazing environment for this haunted month. I ended up dressing myself on the sim, and I quite like the effect!The setting itself is lovely as well - spooky and atmospheric with many little touches along the way.

These fantastic story hunts are done via a HUD (Japanese and English versions) and have a lot of options and beautiful sets. They also have a strict script limit and are making the Free Starter Kit available via the marketplace, so you can get set up in private. The HUD itself will track your script amount, so once you're set at under 1000kb try to stay there. Once you put on the HUD agree to let it teleport you and you're pretty much good to go.

Hunt: Womanstuff: 1 - 25

Poppin' Penguin Hunt!: Summer Lovin'

This was a pretty straightforward hunt, most of the popsicles nearby and placed so you can see them. Many of the stores have hints - good ones - and there were only a couple where I either couldn't find the item or couldn't buy it. It cost me about 20$L for the hunt prizes which cost; not bad, overall, though I prefer free hunts of course! I took pictures of the prizes below, including alts when things were couples poses.

Fantasy Faire: The Echtra Experience

When you land in Echtra, there is a sign you can click to join the Echtra Experience to learn about what's going on and get some shiny gifts! The goal is to look for small golden footprints and stand on them, thus advancing what you know. Initially, a large black band will show up across the bottom of your screen and you have to accept permissions to affect your avatar. Rikkon the Cheerful is standing right nearby; when you move on top of the golden footprints, you're view moves and he speaks to you.

Chapter IV: Preparations

Bard Queen: Before you leave, emissary, I would like to give you another gift myself. Please pick one of these items...
Bard Queen: The elven knife has the keenest of blades. It will cut through the hardest roots, the strongest vines. It may even cut through rock, although that would take time and blunt the edge.
Bard Queen: On the other hand, I could give you instead this very special candle. Burn it and it will surely calm down even the most aggressive creatures. Or you may find use in the special unguents worked into the wax or its magically enhanced wick.
Bard Queen: The choice is yours, which one do you prefer?

Fantasy Faire: The Tale of Exiles Hunt - Part 1

You purchase the HUD from vendors at the landing areas of each sim; there's a standard version, which gives your the HUD, and the deluxe, which also gives out an outfit to wear. You need to be wearing three things out of the HUD folder - Two which say "Attach me" and the HUD. A permission request will come up when you put everything on; accept it so that you can be moved, you can be shown wearing the right things, etc...

Chapter I: A Hero is Needed

Meet the Bard Queen in Fairlands Junction

You will be teleported to the Fairlands, right next to the Bard Queen. Click on her and a video will play, telling the story of the Quest you are about to accept. She will also give you a necklace to wear to mark you as her Emissary - a lovely gold harp. 

On9 Anniversary Hunt

It's On9's Anniversary, and to celebrate they're hosting a hunt! Each store has a cupcake in their section, and inside of each cupcake is a landmark and a hint to find the hunt prize. You don't look for it at the On9 Event - instead, take that landmark to the store and look for another pretty pink and cyan cupcake for your prize. I highly recommend picking up all of the hint folders and going from store to store - nothing is gained by returning to the On9 Sim in between each hunt. All the hints seemed decent to me and there were very few hunt shenanigans like hiding things inside of things or having half a dozen cupcakes in view! Where I thought something was a little above the challenge norm I've included notes.

Magic of Oz: 2016 Easter Egg Hunt

The Magic of Oz annual Easter Egg Hunt is back in all of it's glory! This is one of my favorite events - at the landing point (see above) you click a sign for instructions and your Easter basket, but I'll spoil how it works here - wear one of the baskets (big or small), click all the eggs you see, and every six eggs you can select a stack of eggs from one of the tons of stores offering gifts. The eggs themselves are about a quarter of a meter high and brightly colored; they vanish when you click one, and reappear pretty quickly - so you don't really need to compete with the crowds on the sim! Also, there's a 30 second lag time between eggs (it tells you when the 30 seconds are up), so you have time to admire the scenery and snap some pictures for posterity.

Enchantment: The Last Unicorn Hunt

In addition to a ton of awesome items, most of them clearly inspired by The Last Unicorn, Enchantment is also running a hunt to encourage you to visit the thirty stores offering up free goodies inside a book. For ease of travel, there is a HUD which also give out hints for each store; it is an enormous HUD that I ended up tucking off to one side so I have enough screen to hunt with. I love the idea of built in hints, though - it makes things so much simpler, and many of them are charmingly redolent of the books themselves. Where I've hit a hiccup, I'll add in an additional hint of my own to take you a step further, but overall these books are not hard to find.

It's a fun hunt with a reasonable number of stops and some truly amazing prizes - many of these will be showing up on my main account as well as on the lovely Bizarre, my Unicorn!

Origami Hunt Guide: 鱗廻RIN-NE - Final Quest

Once you've finished all of the quests, head up to talk to Matsunosuke again and he'll direct you to the Priest.

MATSUNOSUKE: At last we have only one to reseal. The priest is waiting for you. Please go to see him.

PRIEST: All the other places have been resealed. ... I never thought you would make it. Really I do appreciate you... Well, but I have to refrain [from saying] thank you. From now you will face the hardest moment. Have you heard the Orochi's story before? Yes, little Sayo is alive for sure. 

PRIEST: Yamata-no-Orochi, it's planning to get Sayo forever. A human life is much shorter than that of Specters and Gods. What the snakes [were] collecting at each place was the energy to recover the Orochi. Fortunately, you prevented them from getting the energy to it. You can take it down now. Please take this, it definitely will help you.

PRIEST: Now, go to the storehouse. Go to the pot.

Eikichi's Quest - Kappa

EIKICHI: I think you know Kappa. It's so famous. Kappa lives in a river, challenges passerby to sumo wrestling matches, and steal his Shirikodama. A Shirikodama is a kind of mythical ball said to contain the soul, which is located inside the anus.

Yes, he said anus. Yes, many of us are surprised, too. Watch out for kappa, yo!

EIKICHI: Without it, a human loses energy. If someone takes back his Shirikodama, I guess he will be alive again... What he says makes no sense. And now no one goes close to the river. Of course, we have had Kappa here for a long time, but they attack humans more now than they used to. The problem is, we can't get close to the river. How can we make Kappa to behave well?

Toubee's Quest - Gashadokuro

TOUBEE: Gashadokuro means a giant skeleton. It's made up with grudges of [the] dead who were not buried. Yes, it's originally a human. But someone says he saw it around the mountain these days. 

TOUBEE: We have no wars nor fights for now, so I can't find any reason for it becoming active. Anyway, it's so huge. No one can stand against it. He must have seen what he saw. Thus, please make sure [that] there is the Gashadokuro there. Well, if that's the case, it's us, yin-yang masters, to take charge to purify it. We'll prepare as well... please take this Shikigami, a paper manikin ghost, with you. It will connect you and us.
