Genre: Midnight on the Pacific Shore
The Polynesian Theme of Genre is coming to it's end, and when it goes so will a wide variety of amazing decorations and fun outfits and accessories. I had fun putting together a small set off to one side of a friend's land before taking a few pictures. First, the set! The tall tiki torch and the squat table-sized torch are both from Anachron. They have a lovely shape, very simple shading, and a simply gorgeous flame on top. Both give a soft golden glow which brighten up their surroundings nicely. Behind this pair I put a trio of Little Llama's pineapple shaped lamps in a variety of colors. I'm showing the fruit colored, rainbow, and yellow, but there are several other options including a tintable white/ These lamps turn on and off on a touch, making them functional and decorative in one. In the background floating on the ocean is an adorable little lantern from Distorted Dreams which has a circle of flowers around it which can either be set to spin or be static. I love the combination, and having something to float on water is really perfect for a Polynesian theme.
The small palm trees are the first of two items from [hate this: home] which I cannibalized to make a frame for hanging my chairs from. This is part of why I love modify-ok decorations! It really offers a lot of options for the creative builder trying to make a coherent scene. The trees themselves are lovely and astonishingly parsimonious on the land impact. The tea lights sitting in enormous spheres are from [hate this: home], with some fun variation in color and a steady flame. Finally, the hanging chairs are both from Mirage Treasure Company and are really a lot of fun, coming in one and two pillow versions. There are a ton of textures for the cushions with light and dark options for the chair itself and the rope. Animations are included with a lot of moods and genders, and can be adjusted slightly to fit differently sized avatars. The shape of the chair itself is quite fun, curved and ridged like it's been woven out of flexible branches. At the top of the rope is a heavy metal section which would go solidly into any hanging surface - a palm tree trunk, lets say - for a solid sit.
My outfit is no less patterned and decorated than my surroundings, and equally as fun. I kept to my usual pallor this time, which lets the combination of tattoos from [Ab.Fab] and Sn@tch really pop. They were clearly working off of similar inspirations, and they work together as if made to do so - rings and larger patterns interlocking without overlapping. I doubt they planned it, but it's a wonderful effect and some really fantastic artistic efforts. My dress is flowery and fabulous from The Annex, a single shouldered sheath with some fantastic ruching across the torso which casts lovely shadows. I loved the multicolor in particular, though all of the versions have their charms, and it comes fit for a bunch of bodies and all of the standard sizes. I accessorized mostly with flowers - an enormous flowery hat from SinfulSky flown in to Polynesia from Haiti. It comes with a color changing HUD so that the flower can be tinted to match a bunch of outfits. Wrapping flower vines from Spot On pop up here and there around my body showing off a bunch of their colors with a lovely green stem. The final touch is a gorgeous set or turtle themed jewelry from Spyralle with her signature gorgeous textures and a really clever and sharp shape. There are three color varieties where the framing and the inner heart change - the black and enamel I'm wearing, a white with brilliant blue paua shell, and a lovely wood with mother of pearl iridescence. You don't want to miss these amazing items, so swing by Genre while it's still spending time on the beaches of Polynesia.
