Rainbow Waters

You, Stop... Come Here

I'm slowly getting back into the swing of blogging something other than events - licking my wounds after my vast failure at covering Second Life's Birthday (though in my defense, my idea was rather stupid given how much else was going on in my life). I was inspired by the hair, from Ploom, which I've wanted to show off for a while. It's a subtle set of pig tails, caught back far enough to fall behind my ears. The length is extremely long - falling well below my hips. Both the all of the hair and the length makes it a more challenging hair both to dress and to pose - the fall over the shoulders limits how far your head can turn naturally, and the sheer volume tempted me to pull a Lady Godiva. I did near as, placing a simple swimsuit from Baiatice underneath - a lovely linked bikini with a pretty metal clasp in the front. It's being sold at the Summerfest Event, which ended today. Hopefully it will make the transition to her main store soon as it's completely lovely. I especially like the cutout over the stomach - sexy lines there.

Sun Bathing

On my head I added this amazing, color-changing headdress from Folly. It is astonishing; just about everything is color changable with as much as twelve or fifteen different options. My only complaint was that I wish it was HUD tinting instead of via menu - the options are so varied and amazing that I wished I could see the colors instead of trying to judge from names. Otherwise, though, the headband is amazing, the flower add-ons are delightful, and the options make me wriggle like a thrilled puppy. It can go with anything, in astonishing variety, and I have no doubt these will be showing up again after I completely rework the coloring to fit a completely different outfit. Finally, these amazing poses are from Grafica and are available at the Rhapsody event right now. Yes, shocking as it seems, I actually have managed to cover something while the event was going on; please pick your jaws up from the floor. These poses are all based off of different dances or music, and I simply adore them - managing to be unique, interesting, and to not twist my limbs despite the sometimes extreme shapes they make. I love the variety of arm and leg shapes, and the real natural feel to the poses, and I also love that each set comes with mirror images of the pose.

2014 Fantasy Faire: Turned to Stone

Stern Angel is Stern

The Fantasy Faire itself is over, but tendrils of good will and good wishes continue on into the future - not only swinging around to next year, but also in the form of the second half of the Fantasy Faire Hunt (First Half Guide Here) in the Palace of Tears. It also continues in many of the Faire Stores, where Fantasy Faire Donation boards are transplanted when the Fairelands close. My skin was a release for the Faire from Fallen Gods - an amazing stone skin texture which came with an outfit and eyes (not shown). I was so very glad that it included SLink appliers for the skin - the effect is as flawless and wonderful as I had ever hoped, as you can see from my perfect stony fingers above. I don't see a sign of this particular skin at his store, even in an extended Faire Donation Option, but if you like this skin just check out the myriad of wonders he has available to all - and if you meet any noobs, let them know about his Newborn boxes; for the first seven days, you can get a free skin. I layered over the stone rainbow sparkles from Folly, and they look quite lovely and give me a bit of a glow of health - setting me apart from those scary angels who might eat your time. Check out her store for a run on Fantasy Faire Donations - we're still counting up to a final total.

Stone Slippers

My hair is another faire donation, this time from Wasabi Pills, one of my perennial favorites. It's a lovely, curving style which I thought set off my stone skin beautifully, and had a lovely braid detail that I simply fell for. I also really liked the forehead line and center part - it really makes me look the part of a stone statue, doesn't it? It's now available at her main store for purchase. My gown is from Sakide, and I picked it up my first day in the faire and then took forever to figure out a look for it - this will be a continuing problem, as my Fantasy Faire Folder is quite brimming with gorgeous things. Sakide has all the RFL vendors out, so you can find a wide variety of options at her main store, including this one. I love the design - from the short skirt, to the sweeping train, to the face that the belt and skirt are color changing between several options - I chose gray here, but there is black, pink, purple, gray and white all available to you. To this final look I added a couple of items from the depths of my inventory. First, a gorgeous set of jewelry from Elemental Earth Designs with a large, chunky quality which I thought looked like something a statue might wear if she got to choose. Secondly, I added these fun shoes from Eclectica which are some of my favorites. I adore the teardrop shapes on the framing of the shoe in particular.

2014 Fantasy Faire: Helping in Heavenslough

Unexpected

I'm having such fun purpling it up from the various donation items at the Fantasy Faire - white there are a number of stores which offer different colors as their donation items, they seem to be overwhelmingly purple. It offers some consistency as I'm trying to zoom my way around the sims snapping pictures, and makes matching colors across stores a bit of a dream. My hair is a fun design from Analog Dog which combines the flexibility of a mesh updo with the flexibility of a flexy ponytail in curls. They layers of transparency can cause some problems, but overall I really like how the hair looks, and how futuristic the extended braid is. I also added a new feature from a new store called Folly - rainbow sheen. It's essentially a faint rainbow glow on the skin as a tattoo layer, and I am completely in love. It covers a lot more than my pictures show - though sadly there aren't SLink tattoo appliers; given how variable the glow spots are, though, I doubt many people will notice. I'm planning on keeping this about a lot - it adds a subtle rainbow edge without being overwhelming and comes in a variety of levels of transparency and brightness of shading. My mask is from Star Kinder, and I really adore the delicate mesh around the eyes, and the single jewel. There are matching earrings, but I ended up pairing it with a crown and necklace from AZE, which are simply lovely. Usually they would be more appropriate on a mermaid, but even we landlubbers can enjoy the bounty of the sea. I adore the shape of the shells and the delicate pearls and curls of coral. I also added some cutely curling earrings from Plastik, which come with matching ears but which can also be worn with other ears. They have a wonderful, thick curve to them which I really enjoy.

My Little, Slimey Friends

My dress from Sublime Shroud Kreations is actually in three rigged parts - the gown section, a corset section with the jacket hanging down, and sleeves - giving you a great deal of room to make alterations. I would imagine the corset could even work over other dresses, which is really nice - one of the things I miss about the old texture-and-prim clothing is the ability to relayer, and mix and match. I adore the texturing, from the shiny leather of the bustle section, to the softer leather of the gown, to the intricate lace-like pattern which decorates the rest of the outfit in bands. The sleeves are long and fun, with a fall over the hands which fits around my SLink hands perfectly. I particularly like that the fabric appears pulled and rippled in the texturing, so that it looks more natural. Finally my shoes, which I've shown off before, is from De La Soul. Lovely cephalapod beauties clinging to my feet, this time with a mottled pattern that shows off the materials Charlie used perfectly. I made the eyes rainbowy, as I'm wont to do, and went with a simple purple on the little suction cups - the body, eyes, and cups can all be tinted separately using a HUD, and once you purchase one set of shoes, you can hunt down some add-on HUDs to diversify the available colors. The Fantasy Faire special is, of course, all sorts of purples, from mottled materials-rich shades like this, to fades like the last one I showed off.
